Winter Session (Jan. 13th – Feb. 10th)

Going against the Flow: The life and letters of the Apostle Paul – Using DVDs featuring nationally recognized speaker David Nasser in Rome and both Romans and Colossians as our primary texts, Pastor Paul’s venture will challenge and elicit exciting new possibilities on how we might live out our own life of faith in Jesus Christ in today’s world. Take the plunge and go against the flow!

Marriage: Built to Last – Shanna Conner, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA) who is Messiah’s on site marriage and family counselor via Lutheran Social Services of Indiana (LSSI), will lead this venture intended for couples looking to enrich their marriage. Using a DVD featuring Chip Ingram, this venture will cover the following

Proverbs Bible Study – another learning opportunity on Wednesday nights, running from 6:30 until 8:00 or 8:30 p.m. depending on the length of the chapters. Facilitated by Linda Erdman, this group will be meeting independently of EPIC in Room 204 (aka the Genesis Room).

Spirituality and Everyday Life – How can we be spiritual in everyday life? What is Spiritual Direction? What are Spiritual Teams? What are Spiritual Gifts? Come explore these questions and more with Pastor Jim. He may even make you some of his delicious popcorn!

Youth Open Gym (with Pastor Tim) – Wish we had a catchier name for this one, but catchy name or not, this will be a great opportunity for middle and high school youth to hang out and enjoy such activities as basketball, table tennis, card and board games, or whatever else folk want to do, all accompanied by music and munchies. Take a (relatively small) risk, give it a shot and come on out! (Note: this venture starts at 7:15 to correspond with the end of catechism classes.)
