Welcome

Over 11 million people worldwide have now attended an Alpha course, an opportunity to explore the meaning of life, running in tens of thousands of churches of all denominations, and at universities, in prisons and on military bases across the world.

At an Alpha course people explore the Christian faith in a relaxed setting over ten thought-provoking weekly sessions, with a day or weekend away.

It is low-key, friendly and fun – and is supported by all the main Christian denominations. Why not take this opportunity to explore the meaning of life?

Anyone interested in finding out more about the Christian faith.

Ø      Adults of all ages are welcome.

Learning and laughter.

Ø      It’s possible to learn about the Christian faith and have fun at the same time!

Phood.

Ø      Each evening includes a free meal guaranteed to fill you up.

Helping one another.

Ø      The small group gives you a chance to raise issues discussed during the talks.

Ask anything.

Ø       No question is too simple or too hostile.

Alpha is a basic introduction to the Christian faith along the lines listed above.  Long-time Christians seeking a refresher course on the basics, new Christians, and those seeking to learn more about the life-changing possibilities of faith in Jesus Christ have all found Alpha to be a helpful tool in their searches.  Although Alpha is a ten-week course, we simply invite you to make an initial commitment of one night, when Messiah’s Satre Hall gym will host . . .

 Come enjoy a wonderful dinner, followed by a talk entitled, “Christianity:  Boring, Untrue and Irrelevant?”  You will also get to hear Alpha ‘graduates’ speak of their experiences with Alpha, as well as folk sharing about the other ‘Ventures’ going on at Messiah on Wednesday nights.  Dessert and informal conversations will conclude the evening.  Free child care is available for all who request it.  The ten-week course begins one week later on TBA, from 6:30 – 9:00 PM.  Please RSVP ASAP with the church office (485-8716).
